Catalysis Seminar: "Syngas economy with green hydrogen for rapid decarbonization of fuels and chemicals"
Title and Abstract:
"Syngas economy with green hydrogen for rapid decarbonization of fuels and chemicals"
In seeking a hybrid model of renewable-energy-powered low-carbon fossil fuel production as a transitional energy technology, we are focusing on a mixture of CO and H2 known as synthesis gas, or syngas. We have developed a Ni-Mo-MgO nanocatalyst that facilitates syngas production from the dry reforming of methane, thus avoiding significant emissions of CO2 compared with steam reforming. A comprehensive scheme for the production of energy-rich gases and liquids will be discussed.
