Sustainability is simply about making the world a better place for future generations through education and programs and services. Therefore, sustainability is part of our mission as campus community builders and the Association for campus community builders. Association of College Unions International efforts in this area promote sustainability as a broad concept that includes civility, tolerance of diversity, environmental protection, responsible energy use, and many other areas.
Global Water Brigades is a program of Global Brigades, Inc., a secular nonprofit based in Los Angeles, California whose mission is to empower students to provide communities in developing nations with sustainable solutions that improve quality of life while respecting local culture. Global Water Brigades is dedicated to improving access to clean water and sanitation. Their students collaborate with water experts and community leaders to create and implement new and innovative solutions to water problems.
ISEC unites student environmental organizations that are committed to improving environmental practices at colleges and universities by facilitating the exchange of resources and ideas. The coalition is composed of over 40 organizations from universities and colleges throughout Illinois. By fostering channels of communication, ISEC will connect students in productive and meaningful ways to make campus initiatives stronger.
